Hayley is a Principal in the Insolvency, Restructuring and Debt Recovery and also the Intellectual Property areas of the firm.
Hayley has been awarded a Masters of Intellectual Property by the University of Technology Sydney and has completed the ARITA Advanced Certification specialist accreditation in restructuring, insolvency, and turnaround.
In September 2020, Hayley was registered as a Trade Marks Attorney with the Trans-Tasman IP Attorneys Board.
She is also a Justice of the Peace of the State of New South Wales.
Hayley has advocated for clients in the Local, District, Supreme, Federal and Federal Circuit Court, and advised clients, on various matters including:
- Debt Recovery: general/commercial litigation, enforcement of judgments, PPS, terms and conditions, contract law.
- Bankruptcy: creditors petitions, applications to set aside bankruptcy notices, applications for possession of property on behalf of trustees, voidable transaction claims, bankruptcy disputes involving deceased estates and family law claims, income contributions, general advices regarding bankruptcy matters.
- Liquidations: winding up applications, applications to set aside statutory demands, applications for possession of property on behalf of external administrators, voidable transaction claims, voluntary administration, deeds of company arrangement, and general advices regarding insolvency and restructuring.
- Intellectual Property: trade mark infringement, trade mark applications, design applications, breach of copyright, design infringement, patent disputes.
Given Hayley’s arts background, she provides an artistic and creative understanding to matters of Intellectual Property. Her Intellectual Property expertise also benefits her work for clients in insolvency matters when dealing with intellectual property assets and rights for the benefit of creditors.
Hayley is a determined staff member with a strong work ethic. She works regularly with other areas of the firm to provide a holistic approach to clients dealing with complex issues. Hayley is passionate about reaching favourable outcomes for her clients, looking for alternative dispute resolution methods where possible, and conducting litigation efficiently and effectively where necessary.
